Hi All, I have looked in the archive but, no luck. I was wondering if anyone knows; if/and what were the options on the Odays, and/or what year came in which fashion for the Oday, particularly Oday25s. Also any information on the spec for the standing rigging? back stay recommended tension, lower/upper stays tension, etc etc. Actually to be clear, what I am trying to figure out is why some boat interiors are red, or why the bulkheads are in teak in some and other have simily wood 'wallpaper' applied over plywood for the bulkhead, etc. When did the Oday get teak toe rail trim? Was it an option or standard? When did the anchor locker became part of the boat? When ddi the O25 became the O26? It seems to be the same boat. etc. Any idea? I think this information should not be lost and would like to update the 'spec' section of the web site if we can find the info. Thanks, a.

Alan you say that the 25 and the 26 are virtually the same boat ,I own a 26 and have never been on a 25. I am interested to know the similarities.I believe that the 26 first came into production in 1984 and lasted until 1986.

O'Day 25

My 1977 O'Day 25 has the red trim, including the bulkheads. No anchor locker - just the little skinny hole to push the rode through. I think there is information readily available as to the 25 - 26 and I suspect they may have been produced at the same time, not the same as some of the other O'Days when they received their three digit designations. I also have the teak toe rail - no idea if this was an option. The red is certainly ugly by 2006 standards, but I can picture the platform topsiders and disco ball when the boat was new ;-)

Call Rudy

Alain, write all your questions down, then call Rudy at D&R Marine. I say write them down, so you don't forget, and to help you "interview" him efficiently. He's a good guy, and will answer your questions, and probably knows all the answers off the top of his head.

Thank you both. yes the red is quite... psychadelic! I will call Rudy. If anyone else want to add their bit here it will certainly help too.

Timm R 25 Oday

On ours...

We own a 1981 25 Oday. The counter tops and bulkheads are teak veneer. Our fabric was a plaid polyester. We saw the orangs formica on an older Oday and know of which you speak. When we bought ours I told my girlfriend that it was a good thing we didn't buy the first one we saw.She couldn't believe they were the same boat. When we bought ours the P.O. had the cushions recovered in a light blue and white stripe. We had them redone in a darker blue using sunbrella. We now have three sets of covers. We also have the built in anchor locker on the bow. This is a very nice feature! All in all we like everything about the boat. There are only a few things we would like to see differant. There is a lot of wasted space under the cockpit and we would like a dedicated (built in) stove.
