Hi, I'm very deep into the rehab of my 1972 O'Day 23' and I've noticed on some O'Day boats, they have what appears to be the O'Day emblem on the cabin tops. Looks like a brass emblem or something. My boat doesn't have that O'Day logo elblem, but I sure wouldn't mind putting it on there if I knew who has those. Does Rudy at D&R Marine? Thanks everyone. They are of plastic

I have the same boat. The emblems are on either side of the cabin top and are made of plastic. They are rivetted on.

make a new one

Hey Mark, My emblems were very sun damaged so I just filled the holes and got a friend of mine who worked at a sign shop to make some new vinyle ones. They turned out great and were not expensive. I was glad to fill one more hole on the cabin top. James

James, Thanks for your reply. I've seen somewhere, in a O'Day email chat list about this issue, however, never heard more about it. Would be nice if there was those O'Day logo emblems available. But might have to follow your lead on this issue. Thanks and happy sailing! Mark

Here it is

Mark I hope that the attached photo helps, in the same way that your advice has helped me in the past ! The emblem measures 6" x 2". I have a 1971 O'day 23' still under restoration. The paint job is next - just waiting for the materials to be air freighted in ! Jonathan

Jonathan, Thanks! I appreciate your input. I'm like you, restoring my O'Day 23'...step by step. I've got literally, multiple projects going on at the same time. First, restoring the gelcoat to shine, second is the teak - removing the greying and restoring the shine. Third project underway as well, is the wiring. The entire boat is going to be rewired. Just pulled out all the old wiring from bow to stern. Fourth upcoming project is a fiberglass repair on starboard side. Nice to know I'm not the only one neck-deep in a restoration of an O'Day 23'. I'm hoping to chronicle it on my boat's website. (yeah, I try to find time on that too). Thanks again for your help on the logo. Best Wishes, Mark s/v Cattivo I 1972 O'Day 23' Green Bay, Wisconsin
