O'Day 34 or 35 Fin keel Were they manufacturered with Keel bolts or is the keel molded fiberglass with internal lead ballast. My O'Day 30 fin keel is a molded keel no bolts. I like this design. I am thinking of moving up to a O'Day 34 or 35 and wondered how the fin keel was designed.

O'Day 35

The O'Day 35 we have is a 89 vintage. We just dropped it off and resealed it. It is a lead keel with stainless steel bolts. About 7 as I recall. As expected they are J bolts through a integral stub in the boat. We found that the factory really did not but much sealant in the joint. After this time only two bolts were missing one thread each. I don't expect to have to mess with it for another 10 years. Have encapsulated the keel bolts as I think the damage came from bilge water. More than you wanted to know. Good Winds Dave s/v DAMWEGAS
