Hello,

I am looking at a 1988 322 that has some minor hull deflection in the area of the chainplates which I believe is caused by over tensioning the rig. Is this something that is common to the model and should I be concerned? Is it only cosmetic or should I be walking away?

I go out walkin' after Midnight
Out in the moonlight, like we used to do
I'm always walkin' after midnight
searching for the next boat ...

I have an O'Day 322, and I also have a slight indentation in the side of the hull that I believe is from the chain plate tie-in. Mine is not very noticeable, but it is there. I think this is typical on this boat.

I have only owned my O'Day 322 since 2014, but I am not concerned.

A photo may help compare...if you look just to the left of the forward pylon, you can see a slight indentation.
