ODay 302

Seriously considering the purchase of an 1987 ODay 302. Have been a sailboater for some time and would like to move up from a 27' footer to a 30' and this boat seems to be a good fit. Any recommendations of what we should be looking for on this boat?

Oday 302 Purchase

Ok that is a great list, thanks for the help!

Ive already talked to a surveyor to look at it once he gets caught up from the mess from Sandy.

Any other tips specific to the 302 would be great also.

I own a 302 and love it. I would recommend a 322 though. The nav station would make it perfect, as the chart table on top of the icebox in the 302 is a bit of a pain.

Also, supposedly there were some keel bolt issues. My keel hull joint was faired around by the previous owner to mitigate and prevent.

Our good friend owned a 302 and we sailed it a lot on our lake near Wichita..It handled the winds very well and was always a pleasure to sail.....it is stilll one of the best looking boats at our yacht club here in Wichita... I think the boat was almost problem free, except for the furler which caused a few issues which were always owner repaired. Still is one of my favorite boats..Jeff had installed rope lighting, stained glass, and real leather upholstery which made it a very elegant boat below. The table can seat 6 for dinner.
