I have a 1983 O'Day 28 with the above engine. I found a 2 1/2" by 3/4" metal plate with Number 05 04243 stamped on it in bilge under engine. Does anyone know what this part # is and where it should go? Thanks.

I did not need pictures. I simply googled it. Here is the answer: Its an engine serial number plate. Picture beneath does not represent exact engine, but you get the idea.
