As i put my boat in this year and started fitting it out, I noticed a minor leak near the inboard engine stern tube. After checking the packing gland and the four hose clamps, i still had a minor amount of water on the inside of the hull. I then got down and took a closer look. It appears that where the shaft tube is fiberglassed into the hull, that i have a leak. Has anyone encountered this problem and what was the fix you have done? I am thinking that if i haul the boat, heat lamp the area and dry it out, that I can fill the area with resin and glass and hope that it seals the water flow path from the outside to the inside. The other option, that I am not looking forward to, is to pull the shaft. This would allow me to try and see the crack or pit from the outside of the hull. This area is small and i can't do much but should allow me to see the point of entry of the water. As i can not find any history of this problem or ODAY fabrication details of the area I am unsure of exactly how this hull penetration is formed and constructed which may show the potential weep points Any ideas or concerns i should consider? thanks Karl
