I purchased a 272 1989 a few months back and really love it. Owned several boats in the Ericson line and this is my first ODAY. After delivering it from another marina I noticed the rigging was loose and needed to be adjusted. I could tell the boat had not been sailed much as it was in a like new condition. LOL! After a few day sails off the coast of Ventura my port side spreader bar appeared to be loose so I immediately went aloft. Two things needed to be fixed a rivot had popped out on the main bracket and the shear pin on the spreader bore a larger hole. I will assume this came from the previous owner never adjusting the rigging and keeping it loose. The problems are fixed. But has anyone ever encountered this kind of thing? I did tune the rigging.
