If that's the drain, it sounds like the water would get real deep and have no other place to drain. My boat came with a drain a few inches above the bottom. Leary of it getting clogged (which it did) and flooding back into the interior (it didn't), I put a second drain on the other side, about a foot higher.
Since the hole is already there, I'd put in a bow eye- or a u-bolt- if you can put in a good backing device. I say device, because for a backing "plate" I used a stainless 1.5 inch pipe in the very vee of the bow, bedded in strand epoxy. Though I never intended to put the B235 on a trailer, there are some times when you'd put an anchor line on that, and I found a few other uses for it over the years. They guy who bought the boat did put it on a trailer and the eye was a good place for a second securing strap.
