It is time to replace the portlites on my (new to me) 1977 O'day 27. They are a PYHI plastic model. PYHI was bought out by Bomar who no longer makes this item. My question is two fold. First - Any suggestions on what to replace with. Second - How do I get the old ones out?

Screwdriver and puttyknife

I removed my 1974 O'Day27 port lights. Mine have two frames (inside and outside). The inside screws into the outside. 1)Unscrew by hand (the screw heads strip easily). 2)The inside just pulls off. 3)The outside has an adhesive seal, so use a wide-blade putty knife to break the seal, then 4)pull them out. Good luck, Jim

port reply

Thanks for the info. I called Rudy at D&R Marine and he could recite chapter & verse on the ports used on the O'day 27. Gave me info on what would fit back into the opening w/o modification including costs. I'll go at the removal with the wide blade putty knife w/in the next few weeks. Thanks for the help guys. Wayne
