O’day 27 leans

hi all
My O’day 27 leans to the Port side a few inches. I can only figure that the galley in on the Port side in the main cabin causing it to be heavier then the starboard side. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this?

Where are the batteries, fuel tank, holding tanks, etc?

Lots of boats heel to one side or the other under a empty, static load. The Beneteau 235 goes to starboard with the head, holding tank, battery and OB all on that side. You can make it better by arranging some of the static things, or just put more gear on the other. Or some combination of both.

Mine does the same. I used to think that it was the all the beer in the fridge but lately I think the hot water tank placed outward in the port cockpit locker is the culprit. Will find out when it gets relaunched with the tank empty.

Stack a few of these on the starboard side. Yes, they may be a little annoying. But they'll fix that port list.

I keep the starboard filled and the port tank only 1/8 and it makes only a small change as the tanks are low close to center line. The hot water tank sits higher and close to the sheerline so has more leverage...thats my theory anyway.

I don’t have a hot water heater in my boat. My water tank is in the forward berth under the bed on the starboard side.

Then I m thinking lead sash weights as far off the center line midship as practical or a new water tank on the starboard side. My portside bottom paint water line is so low every few weeks I have to scrape the scum off the gelcoat just above it.

Our water tank is 30 gallons but is on the port side.....all other tankage and two batteries are on the starboard side and the boat will list if the head holding tank is full....I do not allow the holding tank to get very full since we have a pump-out station that is free for members....one side comment....the head pump out is not easy if the vent on the starboard side is clogged with dead spiders, bees, or whatever....It is easy to take the vent hose off and clean out the vent fitting, etc...i.e. before pumping it out....this eliminates a lot of frustration and wondering what is wrong....Patrick
