Oday 26 tiller/rudder connection 'Revisited'

Allen Harbor asked about O'Day 26 Rudder Construction.

When I acquired my 26 the Pintles and Gudgeons had already been replaced. The guy who replaced them for the previous owner said that the previous were too flimsy and used a heavy duty off the counter set to replace them with. He also used ss backing plates to mount them.

That's a good point Ed. I'm pretty sure that my friend Ray told me that he replaced his Pintles and gudgeons on his O'Day 26. My friend Wayne had to replace them on his Seaward 22, but luckily mine are pretty heavy duty on my 222, knock on (my head) wood.
