Take A Look Down Below
Hi Rob,The 26 is a great boat, but you need to look at a couple of things. Take a screwdriver and tap with the handle part on the deck of the boat. If the deck is soft or delaminating, it will have a VERY different sound. Next, take a look below at the compression post. If the previous owner had a leak at the mast, water could have softened the post and let the deck settle a very small amount, causing the cracks. If this is the case, it is an easy fix to replace the post. While you are at it, check the chain plate attachments, most all boats are bad about leaking here. It only takes a couple of hours to dig out the old bedding and redoing it. After that fix, my boat has stayed bone dry, except when I leave the hatch open during a thunderstorm. If this turns out the be the boat for you, you will love it.Ben AllenMontgomery, AL"Latte Dah"O'Day 26
