oday 25 under sink storage, also athwartship berth

Has anyone every found a use for the area under the main sink. With the valve there it shouldn't be blocked. Just trying to find a use for the wasted space.On another topic has anyone ever built a berth going across the main cabin. I currently have the pull out double but it is really to short to be comfortable. We hope to do more extended cruising in a few years so comfort is everything. I have some ideas I'm working on but would like others ideas also.

Under Sink Storage

This past weekend I asked myself the same question and an answer came back at me, trash can. I am going to put a small trash can there. I also store bottled drinking water under the icebox. It stays nice and cool down there, even in the Texas summer.The mud dabbers also like it down there and am constantly scraping a nest out.I think I will also run the ice box drain into the sink drain line so the ice box will stop running into my bilge.EJ TewsJennifer Lea

Main Salon Berth

You have also noticed that the width athwartship the main salon is a grand 8'. Perfect for a queen size berth. I posted some pix detailing how I handled the conversion. They should be in the archive. E mail me if you want any further details.The space under the counter at the sink is perfect for a diesel engine...8^)... actually I had a waste receptacle there also before the engine install. There are lots of nooks and crannys on the 25 that are wasted. One of the biggest and one I have yet to tackle is the port/aft quarter berth. Perfect for a child, but useless for an adult, it usually becomes a catch all for sail bags and duffle bags. Anyone got an idea to better utilize theis space? One idea I've been toying with is to install a series of wire baskets on a track that can be easily pulled out into the salon for access.Don

Under sink storage area

I like the idea of glassing over that hole. It's the only below the water line opening in the 25. I ran my ice box drain to the sink drain years ago but I need to redo it. I needs a valve to prevent the sink water from coming up in the ice box. EJ do you ever get water coming back in the sink from the higher overboard drain.As to storage in the port aft berth. I thought of stowing disassembled bicycles there when we go cruising.

I have not done the ice box drain to the sink drain yet, I plan on adding a T-valve to close off the icebox drain from the sink drain. As for the forward sink, no I have never gotton any water in the vanity sink.Currently I have the Vanity Sink apart and planning on replaceing it. My wife like the sink for what ever reason and it is easy for the kids to wash their hands in.
