O'Day 25 thru hull

I have a thru hull fitting right near the back of my keel. Were these boats built with these or previous owner installed? Now I need to figure out why it is there?

Ed,
Correct on all 3 points.

With that said, anyone replaced this with a bronze through hull? I haven't had any problems with mine, BUT, it's the one weak link for hull integrity on the boat.
