I have an Oday 23, which has the ORIGINAL Oday wooden cradle. Sadly, the wooden cradle needs to be replaced soon. I can get my hands on a steel sailboat cradle. It was for an Oday 25. Will an adjustable height steel cradle intended for an Oday 25 work for an Oday 23? I think it should, given the lighter weight, but what about hull form etc? The guy is asking $250 for the steel sailboat cradle. Good deal? bad? fair-to-midland? Mark Reiland s/v Cattivo I 1972 Oday 23 pop-top Green Bay, Wisconsin

Mark, My guess is that the steel cradle had adjustable pads. The wooden cradle was probably fitted to the hull( to some extent. Can you do some measuring and maybe post a picture. My guess is that the steel cradle would be adjustable enough to work on your 23. I don't think it would hurt if it was alittle off. Just make sure that it will not deform the hull to any great extent. Then again,if you block the keel off the ground, the pads would mearly keep it from rolling over. r.w.landau

I think the cradle will work fine. You may need to modify it slightly to make sure it is supporting the hull properly. At $250, if it's in good shape, sounds like a good deal.
