oday 25 shower options

My wife and I are planning a weekend overnight in about a month on our new to us 1976 oday 25 and i was wondering if anyone has found a good solution to taking a shower onboard or if its even plausible.

Any and all info is appreciated.

I have a Pearson 28 and use a 4 gallon sun shower. I have a small inflatable kiddie pool (maybe 3ft in diameter) I put on the cabin floor. The sun shower hangs off the boom and the hose goes through the hatch. We put the dropboards in slide the hatch mostly shut stand in the kiddie pool and have our own private shower. After everyone is done (3 people) I have a little hand pump and pump the water from the kiddie pool into a bucket. Deflate the pool and pack it up till tomorrow.

I second the sunshower- let it warm till hot, and it's great- my wife loves it. She sits in the cockpit with it hanging off the end of the boom, and gets scrubbed up. Myself, I just sit on the swim platform and pour ocean water on myself. That's good down to about 45 degrees, then gets a bit nippy. Hey!- it's Maine! :)

I agree. The sun shower is the way to go. I keep my sun shower on my sliding companionway hatch now. I installed two plastic fair-leads on the top of the cover and tie off the sun shower to them. It gets plenty of sun and it out of my way but very accessible when needed.

Another great thing to have on board especially if you have a pet on board is a weed sprayer. I bought a one gallon sprayer a couple of years ago and cut the spray wand down a little shorter and use it's mist setting to cool off. I was using it for rinsing off the soapy dishes in the cockpit but I find that I can do that a lot easier with the sunshower.
I'll wash the dishes in the sink and rinse them off while standing on the step in my companionway without untying the shower from the hatch. I'll then stick the dishes in the strainer in the cockpit near the bulkhead.

The weed sprayer comes in handy for cooling off my dog Penny in the cockpit.
