I recently bought a 1984 O'Day 25. I bought it from the original owner who apparently lost interest in the poor thing a number of years ago. I am making amazing progress in reviving her but need a little help. She doesn't have a sail cover and I can't find the dimensions or plans on the WEB. Does anyone have this info available to share. My wife has made covers for me in the past but we've had old covers to use a templates. I would be interested in buying an existing blue cover if it was priced right. (read CHEAP)

I have one of those old ones...

Mike, I have the old sail cover that came with the 79 O'Day 25 that I bought but I templated the new sail cover from my sailcover for my 78 O'Day 25 that I made from it's old sail cover. OK, Just email me and we can work a deal. rwlandau@aol.com For all I know this one might have some life still in it. r.w.landau

Sailcovers

Hi Mike - Using and old sailcover might work just fine as a template for a new one. However, different sail ages (new sails are stiffer and need more room on the boom), materials, and configs (full batten vs partial batten, different roach cuts) can lead to sizing problems. If in doubt, give yourself more room. Best, Trevor

Trevor; Thanks for the advice. My assumption is that my template will be of factory spec. If that is the case it will handle a new sail as it did when the boat was new. If it is not the case the old ass-u-me will have gotten me. My real concern is that it will cover my existing sail and look good enough to help me sell the boat rapidly. Regards, Mike
