The old 1975 ODay 25 that I bought needs to have the battery relocated. Previous owner had it in a plastic battery box in the cockpit. However, that's obviously not ideal. From what I have read, the original location was mounted in the aft cockpit locker. What is the best way to mount this thing. I'm thinking of drilling into the plywood bulkhead and mounting some sort of platform for it, but if anyone knows the original, factory setup or best practices, I'd appreciate the suggestions. Thanks

Our 25 came with 2 batteries. I believe the original one ,is the one mounted under the cockpit . There was a plywood framed box mounted on a stringer next to the fresh water tank .From there to the battery selector switch it's perhaps three feet or so. I believe this location also counteracts the weight ,to some degree of the outboard mounted port side .
Yep, that is where the battery was mounted on my 1980 O'day 25.

There's various configurations for the O'Day 25. My 78 with an inboard has them mounted in the cockpit locker on the Starboard side. It lists a little with two batteries. And even more with three (temporary storage place). Can you take some pics of your current battery location and potential locations?
