O'Day 25 head port replacement this weekend

I am replacing my original non-opening head ports with Beckson SPPO414DWS-10 Beckson Drain Ports this weekend. I know other people have done this job before. Did you use screws to secure them or just 100% marine silicone? Or something else? Any other tips would be helpful. I want to get the ports replaced and get the boat in the water this weekend. thanks, sPk

Free head ports for O'Day 25

I sucessfully replaced the old original head ports with Beckson opening ports. The job went well but it took all day and then some. Cleaning off all the old caulk was the most time consuming. I just used the old screws from the old ports to put in the new Beckson's. If anyone wants the two old head ports from my 1980 O'Day 25, let me know. The outside trim plates came off in pieces so I tossed those but if anyone wants the ports themselves, let me know. Otherwise, I'll toss them. sPk
