Hi folks!

I am looking at buying a sailboat and like the looks of the 240. I can't find a good drawing of the cockpit though.

Does anyone have the dimensions of the benches and footwell?

How many people will it take when sitting at anchor?

Thanks!

Congratulations on the new O’Day!

I don’t have a 240, but in looking at this photo, assuming you don’t have a wheel, I would expect you can get 2-3 people on each bench. Depends on how big your friends are, and how “close” they are willing to get :)

We have an O'Day 240 at our marina, and I always liked it and thought it would make a great first or second boat (perhaps better than the ubiquitous Catalina 22? - one of which I owned along the way with many other boats !)

Thanks. Does anyone have a copy of the manual? I just need one good line drawing showing the cockpit layout. I've looked in the boat info section, but there are no files for the 240.

I think you had better consider how many people it is designed to accommodate. Sprinkling people all over the boat could be a problem of stability.

I owned a 240. I would commonly sail with a total of 4 adults. It was a great boat. The cabin had good head room for a boat that size. I really liked the way it was set up and sailed well. I only sold her because I wanted wheel steering. If I wanted to go back to a tiller I would look for another 240.
