I just recently purchased an O'day 23 and the boat is sitting in the water at the moment. I have a trailer from a previous boat that I think would fit, but I am not exactly sure.... I am particularly interested in the specs for the trailer bunks. Here are my basic measurements:

Bunks:
-2 feet from centerline
-The height from the top of the bunks to the center trailer frame is 16 inches.

Does anyone have some O'day 23 measurements handy? Should I increase the height on the bunks? I cant seem to find this exact data anywhere.

thanks for your help!

Kurt,
I have a 23 and am willing to take the measurements for you. They will be somewhat subjective however because I doubt that we have the same roller set up. Give me a day or two and I will do my best to describe it along with a picture. My boat is still in the water for a few weeks as well.

thanks. It would be greatly appreciated! And the sooner the better. I have to have my boat out of the water in 3 days as its currently kept at the Marina where I purchased the boat..... need to move it out.

Also, i noticed you mentioned a "roller". I currently do not have any rollers on my boat, just a frame and two solid bunks.

I have Keel rollers that sit just above the trailer frame to make the boat slide onto the trailer much easier. I also have four arms that rise up at a 90 degree angle that support the boat from rocking side to side. On the top of each support arms are four rollers that pivoit and swival to match the contour of the hull as I winch it up. I will not be able to get you a picture within your time frame but here are the measurements.

The frist support arms are just about 3-4" behind the leading edge of the keel at the base (exteme bottom of keel not where it attaches to the boat). My first set of rollors on center are 59" apart and 22.5" above the bottom of the keel.

Go aft 72" on center to reach the rear support arms.

Rear support arms are 59.5" on center and are 21.5" above the bottom of the keel.

With bunks the measurements should be reasonable the same if you stay on the centers I just provided.

I suggest you leave them a bit low or a bit wide so that the boat will not tip as you bring it out of the water but at the same time if they bunks need to be adjusted you won't stress your hull in one spot. The boat should sit almost entirely on its keel when on the trailer. Hopefully you have time and room at the ramp to make the proper adjustments. Hope this helps. God's Speed

thanks Scott. It sounds like I should add about 6 more inches of height on my bunks to be safe. Given that each of my bunks are about 6 inches closer to center than your rollers. I probably could get away with 5 inches of height, but I suppose ill try to play it safe.

Unfortunately im going to have to take some risk in how it is supported on the keel etc., but I need to only move the boat about 20 miles. from there, I can put it up on stands and adjust my trailer properly.

Hi Scott,
when you give your height dimensions of 21.5" and 22.5", is this to where the roller touches the hull? So if one were to install bunks at 59" and 59.5" on center, the bunks would touch the hulll at 21.5" and 22.5"?

thanks again for your help.
