I had a spare cable sheave for the top of my mast, so I ground out some tooling for my lathe and turned it into a rope sheave. I then use a hole saw and cut a few more blanks and made three more sheaves. Now, when I go out to my boat to fix the rotten halyards, I can drop the mast one time, replace all the sheaves and install the new halyards at the same time.
I bought the Valsail line to use. It came in the mail the other day. From a physical comparison I cannot detect a difference between Valsail and Sta Set. I'll post a review after I actually use it. It was about a third of the cost of Sta Set.
