Anyone have any suggestions on replacing/pulling the wiring on a '79 Oday 23? My Mast head light wiring is rotting out and I want to replace it, but it is very inaccessable thru the cabin. It might even be glued in place, which would make pulling and replacing with new wire almost impossible. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

I think it may be laid in epoxy. I've seen pics where people have just run the wiring along the top of the bulkhead.

Sometimes you're better off just leaving the old wiring in there and running some new stuff in where it can be hidden.
My O'Day 222 has a fabric head liner and the wires are under it. I just cut the old wire back where it went to my mast and ran the new stuff including a coaxial cable in an inconspicuous area along the back rest and the bulkhead.

Just recently I removed two of my cabin dome lights and replaced them with battery LED lights from Walmart. My wiring is in great condition but I needed to hide it, so what I did was stick a screwdriver through the hole in the liner where the wires came out and separated the glued liner a little so that I could just tuck them back in so they won't be seen. Some day I may decide to use those wire again for some different dome lights and they'll be they for me.

I replaced the wiring in the mast and deck in my Oday 23 this winter. I went with a Newmar Thru-Dex waterproof fitting. It is sold right here in the store. http://shop.odayowners.com/prod.php?7510/CCX Series Thru-Dex&

I used 5 wire mast cable( about a 4 ft. chunk) from the mast wiring to inside the boat)and Rg8x marine. Inside I routed the wiring along the upper backside of the starboard bulkhead and made the connections inside the little cabinet above the sink. I like that there are no connectors outside to corrode. I pulled new wires from the breaker panel in the cavity along the hull deck joint behind the cloth hull liner. It was a cinch to put a fiberglass snake through there. The trick is to make sure you don't have sharp screw points poking into your wires. So I used a piece of flexible wire loom to keep things out of harms way.
My dock mates liked the set-up and also the work light/running ligt combo. That work light comes in handy!
If you have any questions, fire away.
