I am reworking the Sink/Ice Box console of my 23' Oday (Rotted drain hoses to the thru hull fitting). (Lucky that there was no leak below water line.) (I believe the thru hull is stopped up by barnacals.) I expect no problem with replacing the drain lines, BUT I cannot trace the water input line to the faucet, from whence it comes. Also, it appears that the faucet was designed as a lever operated pump. (The lever just flops around now.) The boat has no water tank, so installing a tank is part of the task. Can someone tell me where the line to the faucet originates? It appears that I will need to cut a hole at the forward side of the sink console to route a new input water line to a deck mounted 15 gal tank to be installed forward of the Mast. I think that gravity flow will be sufficient. This is part of a larger project to convert from a Day Sailer to the amenities of a fully equipped Pocket Cruiser. Installed to date are: A 1200 wAtt AC Generator, 50 amp DC converter/charger, Garmin GPS/Depth Sounder combo, VHF, 12 and 24 Volt interior lights, 115 V Electric cooking appliances, Bimini top. Sounds like you have the pop top model, where the entire cabin top cranks up. If so, I have the same model and the water intake hose runs forward to a place under the forward V berth. Mine is a clear plastic hose, orgional part.

Hey Sailorman: *: Mine is a 1970 23' Oday. You're right- it has the crank-up top, which prompts another question. Do you have the strip screens for the gap between the raised top and the bottom rail? If so, can you describe the means of fastening the edges of the screens? (Skeeters and biting Gnats eat you up down here in Florida.) Part of my project is to make the screens. As to the water pipe going to under the Vee birth, thanks!
I suppose there was an optional water tank to install there? I will mount a tank on deck just forward of the mast and run the pipe along the inside rail to the sink. Then I won't need to pump the water. Bill

Bill, The water tanks that came with the boat are clear plastic jugs, 3 or 4 gal capacity, and the top of it had a plastic spout that goes into the water pipe. I have 2 of them and think they came when the boat was new. Mine is a 72, have had her since 1978. The screens are a combination screen and enclosure. The material is some sort of plastic canvas, with the screen sown in it so you can unzip the canvas part, and have screening. Snaps hold it to the top and the bottom, velcro holds them together at the ends. They do a good job. Paul
