O'Day 23 mast question

I just bought a 23 that I think is a '73 model (#XDYL04050173). I am having it delivered and launched next week and need to know how hard it is to raise the mast, which has the furled jib attached. I had a 17' Daysailer last summer and my wife and I were able to rig it pretty easily. This mast looks much longer and heftier. The refurbisher/seller has not tried raising it and believes the previous owner kept it at a boatyard that had a crane. Do I need to have a pro do it?

Please respond asap, as I don't want to spend an extra $100 if it's not necessary.

Also, anyone know where I can get a copy of the manual?

Allen,
If the mast is keel stepped, in other words, the mast goes through the top of the cabin, you're going to need some sort of a crane to step it. Hinged Tabernacle type masts that sit on top of the cabin are easier to step provided you get enough help.

My 22 is designed for single-handed stepping. Not something I want to do every day, but it isn't too hard. Secure all shrouds and the backstay and walk the mast up then bring forward the headstay and secure it, too.
