I am working on my 1978 "Affinaty". Thinking about the cabin windows. They are very crazzed, full of little cracks and very dull looking. Fortunatly no leeks. Priced out Lexan(sp) was told I had to buy a 4x8 sheet Way To Much. I would like to do them while I tackle the cabin liner. By the Way Reading the posts are Great gives me all kinds of ideas and info. Thanks to all!

Also looking at a lake this Year to teach my two sons to sail. One problem low bridge to the big side of lake. I had a 222 that I set up a system to raise and lower mast by my self but this is a little more dificult. any pictures out there of a set up? I would love to see.

Pete, I also have to refurbish and rebed the cabin windows in my O'Day 272. I looked throughout this forum for suggestions like you have and found great advice. One of my favorite and what seems to be the cheapest methods for taking the craze out is using a car headligh polish kit on the windows. I dn't remember who suggested it and what thread this was under, but it sounded like a great idea. I may try this.

I replaced all of my (6) cabin windows with 1/4" bronze Acrylic. My source: Petersen Plastics Chicago, IL. About 1/3 the price of D&R. Acrylic will last over 20 Years. Lexan about 6 years.

Did you order a sheet and cut it yourself, or did they custom cut them for you? If so, how did you give the the details as to size, shape, etc?

Peter,
Try using some 000 steel wool on them and compound them after. I got that hint from Rudy a couple of weeks ago at his store.

Try s plastic polish like Mcguires or Plexaglass. Sort of like car wax but will cut thru the haze.
