I have a 1986 O'Day 222 and it seems to have a really poorly designed mast foot. During raising the mast, the entire things seems to be supported by a flimsy aluminum pin housing which snaps at the slightest twist. I have gotten used to this, but raising and lowering the mast still is a chore loaded with anxiety. I recall seeing a posting a few years ago about someone who could build a custom unit for a 272 that was much more sturdy - Anyone out there have any ideas fo my 222 ? Jim
