oday 222 compression post

i just took delivery of an 84 oday 222 and noticed that their is no compression post in the cabin under the mast .in looking in the brochure of an 86 model their looks to be a bar at a 45 degree angle going from the bulkhead post to the top of the cabin roof .any info would be much appreciated.iam concerned abou the stress in that area.

Neil, my '84 has a intigrated post as part of the bulkhead behind the sink. It is not real heavy, maybe 1" x 1 1/2". It is offset from the center of the mast by about4-6 inches and does go throught the cabin top. Does this help? I could probably take a few pictures this weekend and e-mail the to you if you if it would help.

My missing compression post

Larry & Neil, I have a 84 222 purchased last year. Larry, my 222 does not have a compression post as you described. Could this be something unique to '84 222? I would like to see photo's of my "missing link"
