Trailering and domestic plumbing
Hi Gilbert,Congrats on your recent purchase - good choice! The mast on the 22 weighs about 45 pounds, more if you have a roller reefing setup. It sits easily on the bow rail and the main hatch at the companionway. I put an old throwable PFD cushion under the mast at the main hatch to cushion it. For trailering over the road, I recommend a post at both ends of hte mast. The shocks from the road will be hard on the bow rail for any extended period of time. Make sure the mast is braced laterally so that it stays in one place while in turns on the road. The water tank sits on a plywood shelf, and is glassed over above by the cockpit deck just aft the companionway. It is filled through the stbd. cockpit locker usually. I suppose if you remove the plywood battery shelf, you MIGHT be able to slide out the tank, but I would verify that before anything else! You can just barely reach the port side of the water tank (and hose fitting to) through the extreme aft end of the storage space directly under the port berth. (not very easy to reach!)Is your sink fitting (faucet) working? Perhaps that needs replacement. I plan to replace the leaky fitting on my Oday 22 soon, and I hope there's enough slack in the flex tubing to do it without tearing the entire galley unit out.Let us know how it goes, and I hope this helps you, Fair winds,Stu TimmO'day 22"Karakahl"
