O'Day 22 Table pedestal post size?

The pedestal for my interior table was not provided when I purchased the boat. I have the original table, but no pedestal.

And I have never seen what was originally provided.

So if you have one, can you provide the following:

ID, OD, Length?
Material?
Is it machined in any way or just a piece of pipe/tube?

Photos would be helpful too.

How stable is the table when set up? Is it worth replacing or would something else be better?

The table leg on my 23 is a 1" thick teak leg which is about 3.5 wide at the top and about 1.25" wide at the bottom. it is cut down the middle into two pieces which are hinged in two places, so they store more easily. One side of the leg is also hinged at the top, so it folds flat against the bottom of the table when it is store against the bulk head. The leg has velcro strips which hold it against the bottom of the table for storage.
The leg is very stable, but we seldom use it for eating.

My 22 was missing the table, pedestal and base. I ended up making a folding table out of wood. Sorry I don't have the answer to your question. Just another option for you.

Thanks but hoping to use the original table. Your interior woodwork looks great. What did you use to finish it?

Thanks, I used Minwax Stain, Sedona Red. The stain was followed up with 7 coats of high gloss varnish.

My 1974 (fixed skeg keel, masthead rig) may differ from your 1980, but my original table leg is a thin walled stainless steel tube where the OD fits snugly into the "receiver" of both the floor fitting and the one attached to the bottom of the table. Length is about 20" or so. I hope that makes sense. Sorry I can't offer a picture or dimensions as the boat is in winter layup and I cannot get to it anytime soon. If you are still looking a month from now, I can post then.

I'm in the same situation as HarryP33, can't get to my 1978. However, it is how Harry described it - a stainless tube about 2 to 3 feet high. There's a piece of vinyl on the table end of tube. The table's bottom has a round fitting that pressure fits on top of the tube/vinyl piece.

A call to Rudy Nickerson at D&R Marine night help, Rudy was the Parts Dept. Manager at O'DAY from 1973-89 and now runs a little shop making and selling O'DAY parts. (508) 644-3001 He has a web site www.drmarine.com but I don't think the table leg is listed. The other source to check is Garelick Marine, the company that makes outboard brackets and marine accessaries. They sell table parts like that leg, but I'm not certain if they made the one for the 22 (also used on the early 20s as well.) WEST Marine sells Garelick parts.

Follow up- I spoke to Rudy and he passed on that the pedestals were a standard RV type. He remembered the name Tidee but I was not able to find that product. I did find that Todd and some others make a 2-¼ pole which tapers down to 2- 1/8 in various lengths which sounds right. I found one online and have ordered it. Thanks to all who helped.
