O'Day 22 Forward Hatch Replacement

The forward hatch on my 22 blew off last season and I am trying to figure out how to replace it. Does anyone know how I go about replacing my old hatch. The duck tape and black plastic bag aren’t holding up too well and doesn't look the prettiest!

forward hatch replacement

I own a 26 ftr and also had to replace the forward hatch cover last season . I was able to locate 1 thru rudy at d&r marine in assonet mass. He is very helpful with just about everything Oday you can also look him up on the web at www.d&rmarine. the unit we purchased was a direct replacement so there was no cutting thru the deck , just take your time remove the old 1 and clean out all the old caulk reinforce the deck might not be a idea as well . I cut some teak and sandwiched it between the layers on the deck mostly to catch the screws for the new unit. use good quality marine caulk and take your time .so far i have found no leaks , good luck !
