I have an 1980 oday 22. Looking at other chain plate posts I'm seeing that the chain plates are attached to the bulkhead. Mine are aft of the bulkhead and only attach to the deck. A pulley for the sheet is attached to the bulkhead. Is this right? Or has this been modified?

I have the same boat. My set up is the same as yours. It appears to be the original set up.

Thanks for the confirmation. The core on the port side was soft. I cut it out and found that section had plywood instead of balsa so I guess it makes sense. Had to re-core from the sheet pulley back to the aft lifeline stanchion. Just wanted to know before I start drilling new holes.

The O'DAY 22s that had the chainplates attached to the bulkhead were most likely 1979 or older models, that would be the original, masthead rig rather than the later Fractional rig (1980-83). The shrouds on the fractional rig were also swept aft a bit, whereas the masthead rig had the shrouds nearly even with the mast (fore and aft).
