O'day 22 Battens

Any oday 22 owners that could measure their Battens' width? I have a 30" and two 24" battens.

I could next time I go out to the boat, but I have to ask....can't you measure the batten pocket on your particular sail? I assume there are common sizes but it may vary by sail maker too.

Looking on Sailrite's site, they sell 3/8", 5/8", 1", and 1 1/4". I can't imagine a 22' boat would have a 1" batten. I just went and measured battens on my OEM Pryde sail for the O-192 measure 5/8", though the leech-end caps are about 1" wide.

Batten sizes are chosen based on the sails intended use and conditions, which also effect sail cloth weight. A heavier sailcloth (perhaps for coastal sailing) will have stronger battens than a sail designed for lake sailing.

The point is that the sailmaker chose a batten for YOUR sail, likely different for others.
