Oday 20 centerboard pennant.

Since I don't know the history of my new boat it makes sense I should have a look at the centerboard next spring. I suppose a boat yard can lift it off the trailer and onto some jack stands for me. Would hate to have the pennant break or something like that while underway.
Anyone replace the nylon pin and pennant on one of these before?

If you search around here, you will find posts on pivots. Generally, O'day used a delrin pivot "dowel" held up in place by wedges recessed into the trunk, with SS plates bolted in across the bottom of the keel. I've seen pictures of the assembly here. I also think the consensus is that it takes a lot of abuse. While I did replace my painter for the reason you suggest, I haven't messed with the pivot. I think I'm gonna let that sleeping dog lie for a while
