O’Day 20 1974 Mainsheet block

Does anyone have pictures of their mainsheet block setup? I’m not sure mine is original. Of course one end goes to the triangle plate on the back stay and the other on the end of the boom. But my block jam cleat is situated so you pull up to cleat.
Now that it’s a little worn, gravity pulls down on it and under a strain it wants to slip and pop out.
TIA

If your line is worn or too firm, it can also reduce the grip on the cam cleats. I replaced the lines on my traveller (with worn cam cleats) with a new but much stiffer line and it would slip under heavy load. You should also check your line diameter. There's no better O'Day expert than Rudy at D&R Marine. Give them a call

Thanks for the info. The mainsheet appears to be almost new and of a good diameter. You are correct, Rudy is the man! I'll check on it.
Thanks again.

Perhaps an additional block or looped line hanging down would work as a temporary measure to prevent it from slipping out? Basically and extra support
