The mast-tabernacle connection on the O'Day 192 consists of two parallel openings on the base of the mast which acommodate a pin that goest thru both hoese and the tabernacle. One of these holes is broken and I am inquiring as to whether any one might know how I can acquire a new fitting for the base of the mast...or any other good ideas of how to address this problem. The mast can be raised with only one hole, but if that one breaks, it will be very difficult to step the mast. Send any thoughts to: Burt Klinger @ photoburt@aol.com Thanks...

192 MAST STEP

i HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT WITH THE DECK MOUNTING . TRY WWW.RIGRITE.COM FOR ALL KINDS OF SPARS AND SPAR PARTS. BUT YOU NEED TO HAVE THE MAJOR AND MINOR DIAMETER OF THE MAST SINCE IT APPEARS THAT THEY USED MORE THAN ONE MAST/STEP. Z-SPAR(Z-DIFFUSION) IS THE PROBABLE MAST MANUFACTURER(FROM FRANCE) AND I BELIEVE THAT RIGRITE IS THEIR REP. AND CARRIES SOME INVENTORY. THE MAST CODE IS PROBABLY ON THE MAST SOMEWHERE NEAR THE BASE. I WAS LUCKY AND FOUND A NEARBY WELD SHOP WHO REBUILT THE BROKEN OFF EAR. THE FITTING IS NOT STAINLEES STEEL IF YOUR'S IS A CASTING LIKE MINE, BUT RATHER IS ALUMINUM---MUCH EASIER TO WELD. I HAD TO FILE DOWN THE WELD TO FINE SHAPE IT, AND DRILL THE BOLT HOLE USING THE REMAINING EXISTING HOLE FOR ALIGNMENT
