I'm installing a new Flexible Furler #1 on my O'Day 192. The deck fitting for the head stay has 3 holes to attach fittings to. Which hole should the head stay turnbuckle be fixed to? The bost had a non-furling head stay which was attached to the 3rd (farthest back) hole in the deck fitting - my suspicion is that this is incorrect. The difference is not a large distance (approximately 2 inches) but I think the head stay with the flexible furler should be as far forward as possible. This came up because the furler keeps hitting the pulley on the front of the mast for the old jib halyard. I'm not sure whether to remove the old pulley or cut a few inches off of the furler extrusion. Suggestions and opinions would be appreciated. Does anyone know the actual/official head stay length for the 1985 192?
