The round cam cleats for jib sheets on my O'Day 19 are too far forward to be handy for solo sailing. Am thinking of installing jam cleats on deck about midway between stern and cabin, presuming I can reach that far back under the port deck. Jam instead of cam so as to be useful for other uses such as hanging fenders. Any recommendations in this regard?
Am also wondering about the utility of the jib sheet travelers this boat has installed along the sides of the cabin - not clear to me how they help with the jib sheet, and they seem too far forward to do much good in shaping the jib.
