ODay 14 info

Hi my names Lee Stauber, 70yo, retired, own a Stiletto27SE which I sail On Conesus Lake,NY.
I just was given an old boat for my grandchildren to sail. A Nomad 14.The hull, sails, and rigging are all in very good shape, stored in a barn for the last 20 or more years, but the rudder assy and dagger board are missing. I'm told it's the same boat as a Oday 14? The hull # is SUR00026M84A. I'm looking to buy rudder/tiller assy, or plans, or picture, or any info to help me build one. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, there never was an "O'DAY 14", O'Day did build a couple of 14' sailboat models, but none were ever called the "O'DAY 14". I just looked up the "NOMAD 14" in my 1984 SAIL Magazine sailboat & equipment guide, I see that she was built by the same company that built the PRINDLE Catamarans...... this would explain the O'Day connection! When Bangor Punta sold O'DAY/CAL/Ranger to Lear Siegler, Prindle Catamarans were temporarily included in the new Division of LS known as "Starcraft Sailboats" I think during this time a couple of NOMAD 14s were built as "O'Days".......MAYBE?? I remember seeing one on eBay several years ago, and the stripes and logos did say "O'Day"..... but I don't think the boat was really ever sold as a true O'DAY....... perhaps it was a custom boat built for/by an employee of Prindle? I actually thought at the time that the boat was a HOLDER 14 (built by HOBIE) that someone had repainted to look like an O'DAY.
Rudy Nickerson at D&R Marine (508) 644-3001 might have some info from his O'DAY Files, but since this wasn't an "O'DAY" I'm not sure what he would have, however it might be worth the cost of a phone call!
If you could get the dimensions of the HOLDER 14 rudder, you might be able to adjust it to fit.

Thanks for the getback. My sail looks like the one pictured. My boat is identical to the one on www.iheartodays.com under model info Oday 14. I'm going to try getting info on that Holder 14. Thanks again
