Checked the archives, haven't seen anything about this. We are looking to upsize to a bigger boat, and have found a pair of 28's. Both 1980. One 28 is MUCH closer to home, but it has no shower, no furler. How hard/expensive to add such things? The other 28 has shwr and furler, but needs a new engine. Which is the better choice? (Our sailboat club facilities have no running water, and a shower beats a bucket bath)Any advice is appreciated.MB jbruff@classicnet.net

OD28:shower addition possible?

In the O'day 28 we owned for ten years was a simple set up. It was fed off the head fauset. The fauset had a screw on adaptor located between the hot and cold handles. This was a simple flexible metal hose that ran approximately two feet to a hand-held shower head. You will need to find or construct a manor of mounting a shower courtain to eliminate washing the inside of the boat each time you use this. I can't remenber if there is a drain into the bilge or how that was configured...but it shouldn't be difficult to do. This is definitly cheaper than repowering!. David
