Finally ready to purchase items for my wiring upgrade (thank you Maine Sail), and would appreciate some feedback on fusing my Alt that will be fed directly to the House Bank via a Bus Bar. I was originally going to hang a MRBF off the Bus Bar, but it looks like I will have difficulty attaching a protective cover on the BB, so I was looking at the typical ANL and a mini ON/OFF so I can disconnect for maintenance. However I saw a Blue Seas Panel Mounted Circuit Breaker that has the amperage protection I would need. Either option will be mounted approximately 10" from the Battery. Any issues in combining OCP and the ability to disconnect the power to the Alt with a CB? The only possible issue I see is AIC being lower on the CB?? Thanks in advance...

I've not had any problems mounting MRBF's onto the 250A bus bars. If you do you can always notch the polycarbonate cover slightly...

If you go with a CB just be sure it is the higher AIC version not the 3000AIC version..
