Oceanis interior floorboard care?

Pre season cleaning time and floorboards are on the agenda. Was curious if you use anything other than some standard soapy water.

Is it ok to use standard household cleaners/waxes on the flooring inside?

Any suggestions? Don't want to ruin any of the existing finish.

We use the same product for the bulkheads and floorboards - Murphy's Soap. Has worked well for years. Stay away from any products that would make the cabin sole slippery.

We us a hardwwod floor cleaner made by Min Wax works great on the floors of out 1997 Beneteau 321 (new to us for last 3 seasons)

How about getting the squeak out of the floor boards. The floor boards on my 331 all squeak and creak terribly when walking on them. No sneaking to the head in the middle of the night on this boat? Any one have any luck quieting these boards down?

Getting rid of the squeak

Cwoody, I haven't tried this myself yet (the floorboard in my galley area squeaks), but someone recommended using those felt "buttons" that people put under furniture feet so they don't scratch hardwood floors. I plan on trying that, but just haven't gotten to it yet.

Hi Woody, on my 2000 331, the aft stateroom floor board needed to be sanded on a corner, and shimmed at the other corner, it was terribly noisey before I did this.

I will try sailcote on the other boards, great suggestion!

Looks like some good ideas. Sailkote, baby powder, shims.....I will start testing.
