Our 37 is rated 153 by PHRF of the Chesapeake. We have a shoal draft, fixed prop and RF main. The breakdown is 132 base rating, +6 for fractional rig (even though they all are), +6 for RF headsail, and +9 for the prop. In our first 6 races it seems to me like the boat could sail to its rating in winds over 11 or so, but it's tough to keep up under 7 (most evening races around here). Good luck.
Thanks Jackdaw and David. Doing the Race for Independence regatta on the Rappahannock in October so will submit 144 since I have a folding prop. Though I do have a bow thruster hole which adds drag: do either of you know if points are added for that? I agree David, that she ain't no light air boat without the gennaker but does really well 10+.
We also have a thruster, but we don't get any adjustment for it. Even though it seems like it should make a difference, there was nowhere to specify that on the application form and I can't remember ever seeing it as a possible adjustment.
