Beneteau 352 Toronto
I bought own a B352 (1998) two years ago. It is very similar to the 351, maybe with some minor improvements. I am very happy with the boat with the main features being that it is very comfortable, has large cockpit, well designed cabin, lots of head room, good access to mechanical stuff, nice swim platform, sails well and is quiet under motor. I have made some improvements however, like a feathering prop (adds a knot of boat speed under sail), full enclosure to protect cockpit wood work and some rigging improvements. Two negatives that come to mind are: the placement of jib fairleads and jib sheets coming into the winches at the compainion way, and 2) up-wind performance. It takes some getting use to the sail management with only two winches, but once you are there it is pretty clean - the action is all at the front of the cockpit and the deck is free of fairleads and sheets for the most part. I can only sail about 50 degrees to the wind - not great (there are things that could be done to improve that - like a new foresail), but the boat really takes off on a close or beam reach in 7 to 12 knots of wind. My boat has a Yanmar 3GM30 which I think is standard on the 352, the 351 comes with a range of engines, but the Yanmars are the best in my opinion. The also has a traditional main sail, which I like - the performance is better. I am very happy with the boat. Being a great lakes sailor it is a good fit for my requirements and the 4 or 5 month season. I hope that helps - let me know if you have any specific questions - I am happy to help.
