Obtaining Boat Insurance with a Suspended License

I received an OWI in 1998 and another in 1999 (neither case I was driving but thats another story) other than that I have a no other driving violations or boat claims. I bought a 1999 Hunter 260 last month and yesteday launced it at her new home in Chicago. Now trying to find insurance for the girl with my past driving record in nearly impossible (but required in my marina). Does anyone have any suggestions or experience on how to obtain boat insurance with driving record bleminshes (scars)? Is there "High Risk" boat insurance?

Use Marine Insurers

Even though I'm an old man, my memory seems remember that Marine insurance companies don't care about a driver's license and that automotive ones do (State Farm, Allstate, etc.). The exception would be for a trailerable boat. Try a marine insurance company. Worth a try. Rodney Kidd C-38 #297, Flying Bear

Try calling West Insurance Co. up in Waukegan, IL. (847) 623-0456. They insure alot of boats in the Chicago area.
