Hi,
I recently removed both hoses from the pump to facilitate engine mount replacement. I'm now not 100% sure which is suction and which is output to HX. I believe that in /out ports determined by crankshaft rotation (clockwise on M25XP?) but this doesn't help me. If I'm looking at the pump from front of the engine and the two ports point to the bilge which is which?
Cheers

The pump rotates the same direction as the crank shaft, and the water goes the long way around the pump (not the short space between the fittings). If you have the pump mounted with the fittings toward the top, that would put the inlet on the right and outlet on the left, or vice versa of the fittings point down (on my 5411 engine, anyway). The water goes clockwise around the pump. You can check this with a quick bump on the starter to check the rotation direction. If you put your thumb over the intake while cranking, you should feel the suction.

Thanks Capt. What you say makes sense. Cheers
