I have two problems with the spars for my 1989 O Day 192. The most important problem is that the prongs on the forward end cap of the boom (where it joins to the mast) are broken. Unfortunately there are two different types of fittings that have been manugactured. One is US made and the other is French made. Unfortunately I have the French version which is a different arrangement than the US. This cap is turning out to be extremely difficult to find. I would appreciate any information that would enable me to replace the end cap, or even acquire a new boom that has this cockamamie arrangement. I have a similar problem with the bottome of the mast wich prevents me from stepping the mast myself, but I can have it done by the yard. So, the problem with the boom is more serious. Any help would be much appreciated. Burt

Have you checked with Rudy at DR Marine

He knows pretty much all there is to know about O'Day parts. I also have a 1989 192 by the way.

Try the Rig Rite Website

Rudy is, of course, the first stop for replacement parts. But if you strike out there, check out the Rig Rite website. The show parts for the french Z-Spar and FranceSpar extrusions. With the spar measurments you might be able to identify a similar Dwyer part that could be filed or ground to fit your existing extrusion. Best of luck to you, the 192 is a great boat!
