I am struggling to find a 5.5" o ring for my observation ports. Any ideas where I can find them? I've called all the boating stores I can think of in Seattle and looked online. Thanks

Try Mc Master-Carr

They have 5 1/2 inch O rings in many materials and sizes.

which one

I just need it to fit against the threads of the hatch to make it water tight should the cockpit swamp. Those look like engine ones. I don't know the exact size the o ring should be but the hatch is 5.5". Aren't there any standard o ring for sailboats/dinghy sailboats?

Sam measure the groove that the O-rings

fits into both the inside diameter and the outside diameter and the width of the groove and order Buna-n material.

Sam - yes, there are standard 0-rings available.

Any place that sells part for dinghies will have the complete hatch kits, replacement screw-in covers, and replacement o-rings for them. The standard North American sizes (overall diameter of hatch) are 4", 5" and 6". I would think from your description you are looking for an o-ring to fit a 6" hatch.
