*o 35' O'Day -is it a good ocean sailer

I am thinking of buying a 35' O'Day for the Caribbean. Is it a good choice ? any pro's and con's would be appreciated.

Alot of the guys with larger boats don't tend to check this section. I know there is atleast one person on ask all sailors who has an O'Day 35 and checks in frequently. Good luck.

Oday 35 in the Ocean

I brought my Oday 35 up the Chesapeake from Norfolk. It did very well in the lower bay. PO took it to the Bahamas twice. I heard that it did well but I don't have first hand knowledge.

My wife and I have been cruising on our 35' O'Day and have found it very comfortable. The shoal draft has bailed us out of a lot of shallow spots in the east coast ICW and Bahamas. We are very happy with it. On the down side, it is a fairly light boat and can give a rough ride in rough conditions. Storage is better than most but tankage can be a challenge. We are anticipating the Caribbean in another year and the 35' will be the vessel we will be using.
